The most overwhelming key to a child’s success is the positive involvement of parents. PTA plays an important role in the smooth functioning of the school. As far as Silver Hills Higher Secondary school is concerned PTA is the glue that holds parents and teachers together. PTA’s involvement in school activities helps to lead us in each and every platform. And we are very fortunate indeed to have one of the best PTAs.

In Silver Hills, PTA members are elected unanimously. And each class has a representative. The structure of the PTA is as follows:

The PTA actively participates in all the programmes in the campus. Every year, the school PTA takes a leading role to do all the necessary arrangements for All Kerala Basketball Tournament and makes it a grand success. They also work hand in hand in all the major programmes like Principal’s day, Teachers day, Children’s day, Onam, Kalolsavam, Christmas Celebration, Annual Day etc.

The PTA conducts meetings regularly and participate in all activities of the school rendering continued unconditional support for every endeavour. Be it managing traffic during the busy school hours or donating generously during floods, the parents never seem to step back.

The PTA members of the executive body make it a point to attend all celebrations of staff members like marriages, house warming or birthdays. They also extend wholehearted support to families of staff and students alike during any untoward incidents like death, accidents or loss. All celebrations in the school like Annual Day, Children’s’ Day, Sports Day and Onam see an active involvement of parents which add to the fervour of these celebrations and make it happy enjoyable occasions.

PTA executive meetings are held from time to time to update parents about the school, seek their mutual cooperation and opinion and discuss all matters pertaining to the school and students. All parent members try to be present whenever the school needs them and Silver Hills is highly indebted to them for their support.

The parents also display a cultural extravaganza for the Silver Hills family displaying their hidden talents and skill on Parents’ Day. This is a much awaited event in the Silver Hills calendar.
