History

Silver Hills Higher Secondary School, Calicut, known as one of the most valued educational institutions in Kerala, has a lot to say about its present status. It is a Christian minority institution established in the year 1975 under the management of CMI (Carmelites of Mary Immaculate) fathers of CMI St. Thomas province, Kozhikode. The CMI congregation is the first indigenous religious congregation founded under the leadership of St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara, Rev Fr Thomas Palackal, Rev Fr Thomas Porukkara and Rev Bro Jacob Kanianthara in 1831 at Mannanam, Kottayam.

With a humble beginning in 1975, with just 70 students and seven teachers, the school has now grown into a major educational destination in North Kerala. Located at Marikunnu, six kilometers away from Kozhikode city, Silver Hills today stands as the realization of the dreams of an enlightened soul with a great vision of 'Education a part of everyone’s life'.

The first batch of Silver Hills students under Kerala State Syllabus curriculum appeared for the SSLC board exam in 1986. Since then we have claimed 100% success for SSLC every year. We have been instrumental in delivering incredible results by securing positions in the first 15 ranks till the introduction of grading system. Two of our students secured 1st and 2nd ranks in the exams in 2000. Silver Hills started its Higher Secondary batches in 2002 and continued its legacy of claiming 100% success every year.

Silver Hills is proud to have contributed many known figures to the society in Academics, Sports, Arts, Technology and Social arenas. We have received 'The Best School Award' thrice from the Govt. of Kerala for our exceptional performances in Kerala School Kalolsavam, Asia's largest arts festival.
